Pie Town New Mexico 2016

It is confidence in our bodies, minds and spirits that allows us to keep looking for new adventures, new directions to grow in, and new lessons to learn — which is what life is all about. — Oprah Winfrey

On our 2016 trip coming back from Kansas, we traveled south on I-25 from Albuquerque to Socorro, New Mexico and we found Pie Town.

I grew up with stories about this town, the town made famous by pies. But on our visit, the town looked more deserted than lived in. More run down than I expected. But like any small town it really wasn’t a surprise.

And I like abandoned things.
